Julian Assanges, that guy who founded WikiLeaks and blew the whistle on all those classified government documents, got his own show, and it is in Russia. The show will premier on the English language station Russia Today (RT) next week. You can watch the trailer for it above. It will start with a theme song that was written by EDM sensation M.I.A.
The show will broadcast from a secret location and feature famous guests that have yet to be revealed. Assanges is on house arrest at this time while facing charges of raping a woman in Sweden. RT has 430 million subscribers worldwide and streams online.
Assanges has publicly stated that the guests will be people who would otherwise not be given a voice on television at all. The program promises to be controversial.
The Sri Lanken rapper has taken a lot of heat since showing her middle finger on national television during a performance with Madonna and Nicki Minaj at the Super Bowl half time show, no less. It turns out that she is the daughter of a political activist and an avid supporter of Assanges.
According to Forbes, M.I.A. retweeted WikiLeaks this morning, “M.I.A. is the Julian Assange of pop music” to 365,000 followers, including me. She also tweets about smoking marijuana all of the time. #justsayinSHARE
