A new study from the Department of Foreign Affairs (Australia) reveals that one Australian dies in a Balinese nightclub every nine days. That must have been an in depth and costly venture to figure out.

No matter where you go on Earth, there is most likely some kind of nightclub or bar. That is what you are supposed to do on vacation, get really drunk and do stuff you would not normally do at home. When you mix alcohol and a lot of people together, shit starts to turn out. It is human nature.

Bali is one of Australian backpackers most frequented destinations. In 2011-2012, 39 Australians died in Bali. 93 had to seek help at the Australian embassy after being hospitalized. 36 were arrested, 18 were jailed, and eight needed life support. The most common causes for injury of Australian tourists was nightclub fights and motorbike accidents.

Sounds like those Australians really know how to party.

A DFAT spokesman noted there was a marked increase in young adult males with mental health issues.
